Totu\u015fi, \u00eentr-un mic num\u0103r de cazuri exist\u0103 o perioad\u0103 de dezvoltare normal\u0103 urmat\u0103 de o regresie \u015fi de manifestarea simptomelor autiste.&nbsp;<span style=\"text-transform: uppercase;\">\u00ce<\/span>n general, simptomele se schimb\u0103 odat\u0103 cu dezvoltarea \u015fi se pot \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u0163i considerabil. Un mic segment de indivizi manifest\u0103 o \u00eenr\u0103ut\u0103\u0163ire \u00een timp a comportamentului ritualistic-repetitiv.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;De la prima descriere a autismului f\u0103cut\u0103 de Kanner,&nbsp;&nbsp;au fost observate alte boli care sunt similare cu autismul dar difer\u0103 \u00een prezentare.&nbsp;<span style=\"text-transform: uppercase;\">\u00ce<\/span>mpreun\u0103 cu autismul, aceste boli ( sindromul Rett, sindromul Asperger, dezvoltare pervaziva, \u201cchildhood disintegrative disorder\u201d etc) sunt categorizate sub numele de boli pervazive de dezvoltare ( PDD \u2013 pervasive developmental disorders).<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Dintre acestea, probabil cel mai cunoscut sindrom este Asperger. Aceast\u0103 boal\u0103 este uneori greu de deosebit fa\u0163\u0103 de autism la indivizii care au un nivel normal de inteligen\u0163\u0103, validitatea acestor diferen\u0163e este dezb\u0103tut\u0103 \u00een prezent de c\u0103tre cercet\u0103tori si doctori. Defini\u0163ia dat\u0103 de DSM-IV specific\u0103 faptul c\u0103 in cazul sindromului Asperger, pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 inteligen\u0163a normal\u0103,&nbsp;&nbsp;impedimente \u00een interac\u0163iunile sociale, comportament stereotip \u015fi repetitiv , indivizii ar trebui sa nu aib\u0103 nici o \u00eent\u00e2rziere \u00een dezvoltarea limbajului ( de exemplu&nbsp;&nbsp;copiii spun cuvinte p\u00e2n\u0103 la 2 ani \u015fi fraze p\u00e2n\u0103 la 3 ani ). Se pune diagnosticul unei boli pervazive de dezvoltare \u00een cazul \u00een care individul are deficite \u00een toate domeniile tipice pentru indivizii auti\u015fti.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ultimele dou\u0103 boli care fac parte din categoria PDD, \u201cchildhood disintegrative disorder\u201d si sindromul Rett sunt mult mai pu\u0163in \u00eent\u00e2lnite dec\u00e2t cel\u0103lalte trei boli din aceast\u0103 categorie.&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cChildhood disintegrative disorder\u201d este diagnosticat la copii de 2 sau mai mul\u0163i ani de dezvoltare aparent normal\u0103 \u015fi care au o regresie marcant\u0103 \u015fi ulterior manifest\u0103 comportamentul asociat autismului. \u00cen cazul copiiilor cu aceast\u0103 boal\u0103 este foarte important s\u0103 se exclud\u0103 orice alt\u0103 boal\u0103 care poate fi identificat\u0103 ( de exemplu \u201cmetachromatic leucodystrophy\u201d) \u015fi care ar putea fi cauza simpotmelor manifestate.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Diagnosticarea sindromului Rett se face c\u00e2nd la copiii de 5 luni cu o dezvoltare normal\u0103 apar mi\u015fc\u0103ri stereotipe ale m\u00e2inilor, o slab\u0103 coordonare, limbaj \u00eengreunat \u015fi \u00eencetarea cre\u015fterii capului. \u00cen cazul auti\u015ftilor se manifest\u0103 o continu\u0103 dezvoltare a \u00eendem\u00e2n\u0103rilor si diminuarea \u00een timp a unor caracteristic anormale dar la indivizii diagnostica\u0163i cu \u201cchildhood disintegrative disorder\u201d \u015fi sindromul Rett ele se \u00eenr\u0103ut\u0103\u0163esc \u00een timp.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u00cen timp ce defini\u0163ia autismului e limitat\u0103 la tr\u0103s\u0103turile prezentate \u00een&nbsp;<b>Tabelul 1,&nbsp;<\/b>mai exist\u0103 un num\u0103r de alte tr\u0103s\u0103turi care descriu boala. Aproximativ 75% din indivizii cu autism au abilit\u0103\u0163i intelectuale \u00een zona retard\u0103rii mintale ( de exemplu un I.Q mai mic de 70 ). Prezen\u0163a unei retard\u0103ri mentale severe ( de exemplu un I.Q. mai mic de 35) deseori \u00eengreuneaz\u0103 diagnosticarea autismului datorit\u0103 num\u0103rului limitat de activit\u0103\u0163i\/comportamente \u015fi abilit\u0103\u0163i care sunt necesare \u00een observarea bolii. Pe l\u00e2n\u0103 dificult\u0103\u0163ile \u00een interpretarea rezultatelor testului de I.Q, se adaug\u0103 \u015fi faptul c\u0103 indivizii auti\u015fti&nbsp;&nbsp;demonstreaz\u0103 frecvent un model de abilit\u0103\u0163i \u00eempr\u0103\u015ftiate pe parcursul unor teste standradizate ( de exemplu: o discrepan\u0163\u0103 \u00eentre I.Q-ul verbal \u015fi cel nonverbal) sau un limbaj limitat ori chiar lipsa lui definitv\u0103.
