A limited number of places are also allocated to non EU nationals.<br \/><strong>Benefits:<\/strong>\u00a0living allowance for the traineeship will be 1,176.83\u20ac per month<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h1>Description<\/h1>\n<p>Each year the European Commission offers 2 five month, paid traineeships, for\u00a0<b>1,300 trainees;<\/b>\u00a0administrative or translation. Starting\u00a0on\u00a0<b>1 March<\/b>\u00a0or\u00a0<b>1 October<\/b>, trainees gain hands-on experience of EU policy making in a multicultural environment.\u00a0 Trainees work all over the European Commission\/Services\/Agencies mostly in Brussels, but also in Luxembourg and across the European Union. The content of the job depends on the service you are assigned to. You may, for example, work in the field of competition law, human resources, environmental policy etc.<\/p>\n<p>There are two training periods per year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>March to end July<\/li>\n<li>October to end February of the following year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What does the traineeship offer?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>EU knowledge \u2013 insight into the processes and policies of the European Institutions<\/li>\n<li>Practical experience \u2013 an opportunity to play a part in the Commission\u2019s day-to-day business<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to put academic theory into practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What does a trainees daily work consist of?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attending and organising meetings, working groups, forums, public hearings<\/li>\n<li>Researching and compiling documentation, reports, consultations, answering queries<\/li>\n<li>Running projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What is exepted from you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Openess to European issues<\/li>\n<li>Interest in learning about Commission working methods<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to work in a multicultural environment<\/li>\n<li>Contribution to everyday work with a fresh point of view<\/li>\n<li>Proactive attitude<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Eligibility<\/h1>\n<p>The traineeship programme is open to university graduates who:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Have a university degree or equivalent, of at least 3 years of study, corresponding to a complete cycle (Bachelor\u2019s);<\/li>\n<li>Have a very good knowledge (C level as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) of two EU official languagues, one of which must be a procedural language: English or French or German.
