We\u2019re inviting applications for the 5th training for youth workers by Towards a Nonviolent World. Download the call for application\u00a0here. The online phase will start late August, the training will be from September 17-23, 2018. (arrival 16th, departure 24th, or 23rd after 18:00!). It will take place just across the border of The Netherlands with Germany in a village called \u201cKeeke\u201d at \u201cDe Vlierhof\u201d, 30 min. from the airport of Dusseldorf\/Weeze.<\/p>\n

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cActive Nonviolence: peace begins with you(th)\u201d has the aims to:\u00a0empower<\/strong>\u00a0youth workers by knowledge, insights and skills to prevent violent escalation of conflicts, transform conflicts and engage in (inter-cultural) peaceful interactions and relations, increase the\u00a0capacity<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0cooperation<\/strong>\u00a0of Peace Builders in Europe, and\u00a0impact society<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0support<\/strong>\u00a0one another to sustain the motivation to be a Peace Builder.<\/p>\n

In order to meet those aims, the project has\u00a0three phases<\/strong>\u00a0with the following objectives:
Online Learning Stage:<\/em><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Reflect on the complexity of three important themes: understanding\u00a0violence, understanding\u00a0conflict\u00a0and understanding\u00a0power, through three\u00a0webinars<\/strong>, online discussions and readings.<\/li>\n
  2. Create a common starting point for the training course.<\/li>\n
  3. Prepare\u00a0action-plans<\/strong>, clarify the project and facilitate ongoing exchange and support (by trainers and fellow participants) after the training to increase follow-up activities.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Training Course:<\/em><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Learn and practice\u00a0communication skills, empathy, cultural sensitivity, conflict de-escalation and third-party intervention, the \u2018key skills\u2019 of Conflict Resolution (CR) and Peacebuilding (PB), through roleplays and games.<\/li>\n
    2. Provide positive\u00a0examples and opportunities\u00a0for youth & youthworkers to be more involved in peacebuilding, and discuss how they can empower youth with the skills they\u2019ve practiced.<\/li>\n
    3. Provide\u00a0campaigning\/advocacy tools, to strengthen the voices of youth for peace in society.<\/li>\n
    4. Enhance<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
