The postholder\u2019s action serves NRC Global ambitions and reinforces country and regional capacities on effective policy and advocacy strategies and activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advise and lead on advocacy efforts toward the EU and its Member States initiated by Head Office, Regional, Country Offices and\/or other NRC representation offices.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor relevant EU\/MS foreign policy developments affecting NRC\u2019s work, provide analysis to support NRC\u2019s understanding of EU\/MS policies and processes, identify opportunities for influencing and inform NRC advocacy strategy and policy development.<\/li>\n<li>Propose, initiate, and implement advocacy initiatives geared to influence the policies and practices of the European Union and the Member States as part NRC advocacy strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Advise, inform, and support the development of global policies and\/or country-specific advocacy strategies and recommendations in collaboration with other NRC Representation offices, Advocacy Advisers and Managers.<\/li>\n<li>Lead on the development \/ dissemination of high quality advocacy products: briefings, talking points, speeches, letters, reports, position papers, and other written materials for internal and external use as agreed.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain constructive relationships with representatives of EU and Member State\u2019s institutions on specific files. Represent NRC in various meetings and international fora.<\/li>\n<li>Provide analysis to key NRC staff in advance of main decision-making forums or relevant processes, policy developments, key dates, and activities.<\/li>\n<li>Organise or coordinate visits from field colleagues to Brussels to support NRC\u2019s advocacy objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Effectively liaise internally with file-holders to ensure coordination, consistency, and alignment of NRC messages with NRC\u2019s global policy positions and objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>We know that you are curious and would like to learn more about this role; please click\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/norwegianrefugeecouncil.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/s\/JDsforNRCPeople\/EZqNtTHG6Z9DtRR7W2dLZZoBY5Sa6yym0-aZ-ntGrHEwqg?e=xXNmGn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>here<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0to access the full Job Description.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>We are looking for<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University degree or equivalent qualification in international relations, law, or social studies.<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian settings and complex crises.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in leading humanitarian advocacy strategies that impact on major institutional decision-makers.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in representing NGO\u2019s, donors, or UN agencies in formal settings.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding and interest in EU foreign policy, European institutions, and processes.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in developing sound and actionable policy recommendations tailored to their interlocutor. Ability to present arguments in a structured, compelling, and articulated manner.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in drafting speeches, talking points, and position papers.
