In line with Plan International\u2019s Global Strategy, One Million Reasons, and the EUO\u2019s 5-year strategy, we contribute to ensuring that 100 million girls learn, lead, decide and thrive. We work with the EU in its three roles as a donor, policy-maker and promoter of human rights.<\/p>\n<h3>Purpose of the role<\/h3>\n<p class=\"is-style-default\">As part of the EU Influencing Team, the Communications and Campaigns Assistant will support the media and communications work of the Plan International EU Office to ensure that the promotion and protection of children\u2019s rights, with a focus on gender equality, is a priority in the EU\u2019s external action.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Principal Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"is-style-default\">Under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Communications and Campaigns Coordinator:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support Plan International EU Office\u2019s communications and campaign work in key policy areas including Gender Equality, Humanitarian Aid, Development and Peace Policies, Youth Economic Empowerment (YEE), Girls\u2019 Leadership and Youth Participation<\/li>\n<li>Support the different online activities of the EU Office (website, social media and newsletter)<\/li>\n<li>Daily monitoring of relevant news and updates from the EU Institutions and EU media<\/li>\n<li>Support Plan International EU Office\u2019s work to advance girls\u2019 rights and gender equality in the framework of the work of the EU Office, the Girls Get Equal global campaign, as well as any other campaigns of Plan International<\/li>\n<li>Support the organisation of key events and activities such as in the framework of the upcoming European Humanitarian Forum, the EU Youth Action Plan, and more, possibly including youth participation related tasks, among others<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the Partnerships Team of the EU Office as wells as with Plan International\u2019s National, Regional and Country Offices to gather information and prepare social media toolkits and case studies on EC-funded projects and collaborate on influencing processes as relevant<\/li>\n<li>Working in collaboration with the policy team as relevant, such as drafting articles and setting up influencing plans<\/li>\n<li>Provide support for the organisation of both internal and external meetings, seminars, hearings and other events conducted by Plan International EU Office<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and manage Plan International EU Office\u2019s contact database and general mailbox, and provide other administrative support as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Essential Skills and Qualifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Commitment to Plan International\u2019s vision and mission;<\/li>\n<li>A university degree in a relevant field (Communication, Journalism, International Development, European Studies, Human Rights, Political Science, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of the functioning of the European Union, and its external action strongly preferred.
