We represent over 100 youth organisations, which bring<br \/>\ntogether tens of millions of young people from all over Europe.<br \/>\nThe Youth Forum works to empower young people to participate<br \/>\nactively in society to improve their own lives by representing and<br \/>\nadvocating their needs and interests and those of their<br \/>\norganisations. In the current uncertain political and social context<br \/>\nthat affects young people, they can be powerful catalysts for positive<br \/>\nchange and contributors of innovative solutions to Europe\u2019s<br \/>\nchallenges.<\/p>\n<p>The position<br \/>\nWe are recruiting a Policy and Advocacy Manager, focused on youth<br \/>\nparticipation and digitalisation. The successful candidate will work<br \/>\nunder the supervision of the External Affairs Director to support our<br \/>\nExternal Affairs and Policy and Advocacy work.<\/p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITIES<br \/>\n\u25cf Be the main point of contact and expert on youth<br \/>\nparticipation in the Youth Forum. Identify opportunities for<br \/>\nadvocacy on youth participation at EU, Council of Europe and<br \/>\nUN level and ensure coordination with relevant team<br \/>\nmembers, member organisations and other partners.<br \/>\n\u25cf Strategically lead the European Youth Forum&#8217;s relationship<br \/>\ntowards the Council of Europe.<br \/>\n\u25cf Develop and implement the Youth Forum\u2019s policy and<br \/>\nadvocacy strategy on digitalisation- a new topic for us.<br \/>\n\u25cf Support the Youth Forum\u2019s advocacy on platform workers (as<br \/>\nlinked to digitalisation portfolio).<br \/>\n\u25cf Lead the Youth Forum\u2019s involvement in the 2022 Council of<br \/>\nEurope campaign on \u2018Revitalising Democracy\u2019.<br \/>\n\u25cf Support 1-3 team members so each colleague has the<br \/>\ncapacity to lead on their agreed objectives and key results,<br \/>\nincluding but not limited to the EU Youth Dialogue, the<br \/>\ndevelopment of the Youth Test (a tool to youth-proof future<br \/>\npolicies), global youth cooperation and funding for youth<br \/>\norganisations.<br \/>\n\u25cf Supervise the day-to-day operations of the team in terms of<br \/>\nHR, providing feedback on major milestones, monitoring<br \/>\nperformance, motivating and coaching, following-up on well-<br \/>\nbeing.<br \/>\n\u25cf Ensure ongoing and regular coordination with the European<br \/>\nYouth Forum Board for areas under your portfolio.<br \/>\n\u25cf Represent the Forum externally.<br \/>\n\u25cf Building strategic partnerships with relevant external<br \/>\ninstitutional stakeholders and civil society, as well as the<br \/>\nEuropean Youth Forum membership.<br \/>\n\u25cf Contribute to the development of the annual plan of the<br \/>\nEuropean Youth Forum and ensure that the objectives of the<br \/>\nAnnual Plan related to this position are met within the agreed<br \/>\ntimeframe.<br \/>\n\u25cf Coordinate the organisation of relevant meetings and<br \/>\nconferences.<br \/>\n\u25cf Oversee execution of the budget allocated to the working<br \/>\narea.<br \/>\n\u25cf Draft briefings, reports, working and strategy papers as well<br \/>\nas articles for internal and external European Youth Forum<br \/>\npublications.<br \/>\n\u25cf Report to and support the External Affairs Director- Policy and<br \/>\nAdvocacy in the management of the External Affairs<br \/>\nDepartment.<br \/>\n\u25cf Provide support to management, including hiring and<br \/>\ntraining new team members, as well as to other colleagues<br \/>\nand departments of the European Youth Forum as<br \/>\nappropriate and necessary.<\/p>\n<p>PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE<br \/>\n\u25cf At least 4 years of working experience in advocacy with an<br \/>\nNGO or relevant international organisations is required, with<br \/>\nproven ability to design and manage complex advocacy<br \/>\nprocesses.<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience working with the Council of Europe and<br \/>\nknowledge of EU institutions are definite assets.<br \/>\n\u25cf Degree in social sciences, such as political sciences,<br \/>\ninternational relations, economics or law or equivalent work<br \/>\nexperience.<br \/>\n\u25cf Proven ability to produce advocacy materials and to develop<br \/>\nmechanisms to share and manage advocacy information and<br \/>\nknowledge.<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience in advocacy on youth and\/or digital topics is a<br \/>\ndefinite asset.<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience with a youth participation mechanism (e.g. EU<br \/>\nYouth Dialogue, Advisory Council on Youth of the Council of<br \/>\nEurope) and\/or background in a youth organisation is a<br \/>\ndefinite asset.<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience with campaigning is a definite asset.<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience with coordinating networks\/coalitions of<br \/>\nmembers and partners.<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to develop and build a strong network of institutional<br \/>\nand other partners and to advocate effectively.<br \/>\n\u25cf Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving and<br \/>\ndecision-making skills<br \/>\n\u25cf Excellent planning and organisation skills.<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to lead and supervise a team.<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage a challenging<br \/>\nworkload.<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to identify, process and analyse relevant information<br \/>\nfrom multiple sources quickly.<br \/>\n\u25cf Excellent research, writing and communication skills.<br \/>\n\u25cf Excellent interpersonal skills.<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team on<br \/>\ncommon projects.<br \/>\n\u25cf Computer literacy, with good working knowledge of word<br \/>\nprocessing, email and online applications.<br \/>\n\u25cf Languages: Strong oral and written English is required, good<br \/>\nknowledge of French is an asset.<br \/>\n\u25cf Committed to the European Youth Forum\u2019s vision and<br \/>\nmission.<\/p>\n<p>TERMS OF THE CONTRACT<br \/>\n\u25cf We offer a two year contract , full time (35 hours per week),<br \/>\nafterwards followed by an open-ended contract. The gross<br \/>\nmonthly salary according to the Collective Bargaining<br \/>\nAgreement currently applied at the European Youth Forum)<br \/>\nis \u20ac3,200.<br \/>\n\u25cf A relocation package, hospitalisation insurance and other<br \/>\nbenefits are available.
