You find a story related to a project financed by the EU. Many projects are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/regional_policy\/en\/projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/esf\/main.jsp?catId=46&amp;langId=en&amp;keywords=&amp;theme=0&amp;country=380&amp;list=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/regional_policy\/en\/funding\/cohesion-fund\/2014-2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>, or those in France\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.europe-en-france.gouv.fr\/fr\/projets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>. You log in on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/union-is-strength.eu\/forum\">the forum of Union Is Strength<\/a>\u00a0to meet your future teammate (French if you come from another EU country, or a journalist from another EU country if you are French).<\/p>\n<p class=\"reveal-2 reveal--visible\">3. Together you apply to the contest by following the requirements listed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/union-is-strength.eu\/en\/apply\">here<\/a>, and try to win the 1500\u20ac award.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"reveal-1 reveal--visible\">II &#8211; The project<\/h2>\n<p class=\"reveal-2 reveal--visible\">The journalists will work in pairs and take a cross-cultural look at various projects in France and Europe that are supported by the European Union\u2019s cohesion policy. The articles they write will then be published in three languages: French, English and one of the twenty-four official languages of the Union.<\/p>\n<div class=\"star reveal-1 reveal--visible\">\n<div class=\"star__element\">\n<div class=\"star__element__text\">\n<p>The contest is open to all young journalists aged 30 at most who are<\/p>\n<p>European Union nationals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"reveal-1 reveal--visible\">The contest is open to all young journalists aged 30 at most who are European Union nationals. Twenty teams of young Franco-European journalists will be selected by a jury comprising Slate.fr staff and leading personalities from French journalism.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"reveal-1 reveal--visible\">III &#8211; The collaboration<\/h2>\n<p class=\"reveal-1 reveal--visible\">Each team will have to propose two stories, jointly written by both members, that will focus on an initiative developed within the country of each team member. The selected teams will be paid for their work at a rate of 1500 euros per team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"reveal-1 reveal--visible\">The proposed topics should meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<div class=\"list\">\n<ul class=\"reveal-1 reveal--visible\">\n<li>be submitted by a team of two young journalists, either at the end of their training or recently graduated, each aged 30 at most. Each team must be composed of a French journalist and a journalist from another EU country<\/li>\n<li>include two pitches: one about a project carried out in a region of France and another one about a project in a region of the other team member\u2019s country<\/li>\n<li>present innovative projects supported by the European Union regarding a European region, and more specifically initiatives developed with the help of the European Regional Development Fund (<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/regional_policy\/en\/projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ERDF<\/a>), the Cohesion Fund (<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/regional_policy\/en\/funding\/cohesion-fund\/2014-2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CF<\/a>), the European Social Fund (<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/esf\/main.jsp?catId=46&amp;langId=en&amp;keywords=&amp;theme=0&amp;country=380&amp;list=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESF<\/a>) and especially the Just Transition Fund and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/business-economy-euro\/recovery-coronavirus\/recovery-and-resilience-facility_en#national-recovery-and-resilience-plans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Recovery Plan<\/a>\u00a0in key sectors \u2013innovation, ecology, digital, social, citizenship\u2013 while respecting the full editorial independence of the actors involved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"star reveal-1 reveal--visible\">\n<div class=\"star__element\">\n<div class=\"star__element__text\">\n<p>The young reporters will be guided in<\/p>\n<p>their investigation, reporting work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"reveal-1 reveal--visible\">Both articles must be a joint effort, written and signed by both journalists.
