This step only applies to non-EU\/EEA citizens<\/em><\/p>\n

If you are from an\u00a0EU country<\/a>, an EEA-country\u00a0 or Switzerland, you are not required to pay tuition fees for the master’s programmes and should\u00a0go to step 6<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brexit<\/h2>\n

The United Kingdom\u2019s (UK) decision to leave the EU means that, as of 31 January 2020, the UK is no longer an EU Member State. Following the approval of the Withdrawal Agreement, your rights as a student in Denmark remain unchanged as if you were still an EU citizen during the transitional period set out in the agreement. This also applies if you begin a higher education after the transitional period as long as you were legally residing in Denmark before December 31, 2020.<\/p>\n

Tuition fee waivers and scholarships<\/h2>\n

A limited number of Danish state tuition fee waivers and scholarships are offered for selected master\u2019s programmes to highly talented students who come from countries outside of the EU\/EEA and are required to pay tuition fees at Roskilde University.<\/p>\n

The tuition fee waivers and scholarships are only distributed once a year for the September entry. The tuition fee waiver and scholarship has a maximum length of 22 months for programmes that start in September. The scholarship amounts to DKK 7,800 per month, and is meant to cover living expenses in Denmark.<\/p>\n

Tuition fee waiver and scholarship students must follow the study plan and not be delayed in their studies in order to maintain the tuition fee waiver and scholarship.<\/p>\n

Who can apply for a scholarship?<\/h3>\n

In order to be eligible to apply for a tuition fee waiver and scholarship, you must be a non-EU\/EEA citizen that is required to pay tuition fees and apply to one of the master\u2019s programmes that offer scholarships.<\/p>\n

Please note that being eligible to apply for a tuition fee waiver and scholarship does not guarantee that you will be awarded a tuition fee waiver and scholarship, as there is only a limited number. Applicants are ranked based on their academic performance, motivational letter and work experience. Family or social background is not taken into account.<\/p>\n

Before each admission round, the university selects the specific master\u2019s programmes that may offer one or more tuition fee waivers and scholarships.<\/p>\n

Which programmes offer a tuition fee waiver and scholarship?<\/h3>\n

For the September 2022 entry, the following programmes offered a tuition fee waiver and scholarship:<\/p>\n

Master in Chemical Biology<\/a>
\nMaster in Global and Development Studies<\/a>
\nMaster in International Politics and Governance<\/a>
\nMaster in Media and Communication<\/a>
\nMaster in Social Entrepreneurship and Management<\/a><\/p>\n

NB:<\/strong>\u00a0You can expect to find on this page an up-to-date list of master\u2019s programmes offering scholarships for the September 2023 entry about one month before applications open for that round.<\/p>\n

How to apply for a tuition fee waiver and scholarship<\/h3>\n

You apply by uploading a motivational letter and CV outlining your academic and occupational background to your online application for admission to the master’s programmes within the\u00a0application deadlines<\/a>. Enrolled students cannot re-apply for a tuition fee waiver and scholarship<\/h3>\n

It is not possible to apply or re-apply for the tuition fee waiver and scholarship for a later semester than your semester of admission. You are only able to apply for the tuition fee waiver and scholarship as part of your application for admission to the selected master\u2019s programmes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
