{"id":80592,"date":"2021-11-11T20:35:35","date_gmt":"2021-11-11T20:35:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/plopandrei.com\/?p=80592"},"modified":"2021-11-11T20:35:35","modified_gmt":"2021-11-11T20:35:35","slug":"heinz-kuhn-foundation-scholarships-for-young-journalists-in-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cvnextjob.com\/index.php\/2021\/11\/11\/heinz-kuhn-foundation-scholarships-for-young-journalists-in-germany\/","title":{"rendered":"Heinz-K\u00fchn-Foundation Scholarships for Young Journalists in #Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80593\" src=\"http:\/\/plopandrei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/plopandrei.com_-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"364\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><strong>What we support?<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The aim of the Heinz-K\u00fchn-Foundation is to support the training and professional development of junior journalists.<\/p>\n<p>The foundation awards scholarships to young journalists from North-Rhine-Westphalia for\u00a0<strong>six-week or three-month<\/strong>\u00a0reporting trips in developing countries in\u00a0<strong>Africa, Asia and Latin America<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The foundation also provides funds to enable candidates from developing countries to gain professional journalism experience in\u00a0<strong>North-Rhine-Westphalia for up to three months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Heinz-K\u00fchn-Foundation scholarships are intended to enable junior journalists\u00a0<strong>to further their professional development and continue training in new surroundings, and to gain a first-hand and in-depth knowledge of the customs, opinions and way of life in other countries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Who is eligible?<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Young journalists from North-Rhine-Westphalia and developing countries are eligible for a scholarship if they satisfy the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>have a keen interest in development issues;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>have already gained substantial professional experience in journalism (a completed college education is desirable);<\/li>\n<li>are not older than 35 years of age; and,<\/li>\n<li>have a good command of the official language of their host country (<strong>candidates from abroad must at least have a basic knowledge of the German language<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>What does the scholarship include?<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Scholarship holders get<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>a lump-sum contribution towards living expenses in the host country (with scholarship payments covering training and living expenses in the host country);<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>a lump-sum allowance for flight and travelling expenses (the foundation pays a return air ticket for candidates from abroad);<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>an allowance to cover costs of research materials (e.g. literature);<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>an allowance for trips within the host country; and,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>(if neccessary, for scholarship holders from abroad) a German language course of up to two months at the D\u00fcsseldorf or Bonn based Goethe-Institut.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the lead up to the scholarship and throughout the duration of the scholarship, the Heinz-K\u00fchn-Foundation will provide support.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>What are the obligations of German scholarship holders?<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Scholarship holders from North-Rhine-Westphalia have to determine and agree with the foundation a plan for their training and professional development in their host country and to follow this plan during the scholarship to the best of their ability. They also undertake to submit a detailed report of their stay in the host country within six weeks of completing the scholarship.
