The role will primarily focus on energy and climate policies and will report to the Head of EU Affairs. This full-time position will be available as of\u00a0<b>January 1, 2022.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Areas of Responsibility<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitoring EU policy developments, assessing their impact on Hydro\u2019s activities and disseminating information internally.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting Hydro\u2019s business areas in the analysis of relevant issues and in the definition of the company\u2019s position.<\/li>\n<li>Developing and implementing public affairs strategies, in coordination with colleagues internally.<\/li>\n<li>Managing Hydro\u2019s advocacy activities towards EU decision-makers, member states and other key stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Representing Hydro in industry associations to support them in promoting EU policies reflecting the company\u2019s position.<\/li>\n<li>Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to position Hydro as a contributor to the EU Green Deal, providing solutions to EU opportunities and challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University degree (political science, international affairs law or economics)<\/li>\n<li>5-10 years professional experience in EU public affairs (EU institutions, associations, consultancy or other related work).<\/li>\n<li>Detailed knowledge of EU regulatory and legislative processes<\/li>\n<li>Existing relationships in EU institutions and network in Brussels<\/li>\n<li>Experience in climate and energy policies, a plus<\/li>\n<li>Experience of industry sector, a plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Key skills\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to present information in a clear, concise and accessible way.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to translate technical messaging into compelling policy recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to implement policy engagement strategies to influence policy positions by developing and cultivating partnerships.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to influence others through these.<\/li>\n<li>Strong project management skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills and ability to go into details.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work well independently and in small teams.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English, both written and oral, and at least one other European language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Additional information<\/b><br \/>\nInterviews will take place in Brussels on Nov-29 \u2013 Dec 1, 2021.
