It is a global program that provides grants to nongovernmental organizations and other private sector partners to protect critical ecosystems. A fundamental goal of the Fund is to engage civil society in efforts to conserve biodiversity.

Since 2016, and until 2021, The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) is investing a total amount of 10.1 million for the conservation of the Guinean Forests of West Africa Hotspot and the sustainable development of local communities.

BirdLife International is the CEPF Regional Implementation Team (RIT) for the Guinean Forests of West Africa biodiversity hotspot. The RIT will raise awareness of CEPF; solicit grant applications and assist organizations to make applications; review applications; give small grants and jointly make decisions with CEPF on large grants; and monitor and evaluate progress with the investment strategy.

BirdLife International is the world’s largest nature conservation partnership. Through our unique local-to-global approach, we deliver high impact and long-term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.

1. Background

CEPF is not intended to be a permanent presence in each hotspot. Rather, it works toward an end point at which local civil society “graduates” from its support with sufficient capacity, access to resources, and credibility to respond to future conservation challenges. Experience to date shows that, in most hotspots, reaching a point at which civil society graduates from CEPF support will take more than five years, the typical duration of CEPF investment phases. Consequently, CEPF is preparing long-term strategic visions which establish what the end point for CEPF investment in each hotspot looks like and determine how to get there.

2. Scope of Work

The consultant/team will lead the process to develop a long-term strategic vision for CEPF investment in the Guinean Forests of West Africa hotspot. The long-term vision will consist of a concise document, prepared through targeted stakeholder consultations and literature review. It will establish criteria for determining when the defined five conditions for local civil society to graduate from CEPF support are met and set targets that consecutive CEPF investment phases can work toward. It will also include a timeline of actions required by CEPF and other funders to meet the graduation targets, and a financing plan that provides a best estimate of the funding required. It will provide a description of what a long-term structure responsible for the coordination of this effort should look like.

See the full terms of reference.

Closing date: 15 October 2021

The service provider must send the Technical & Financial (in USD) proposals, including the following documents to: CEPF-GFWA-RIT@birdlife.org:

– Detailed Curriculum Vitae of Expert(s) involved.

– Technical and Financial proposal for implementing the assignment

– Example(s) of other actions led relevant to that assignment, and relevant contacts may a reference check be required.

Successful as well as unsuccessful bidders will be informed by e-mail as soon as possible after the submission date.

Documents:

Terms of Reference – Elaboration of the Long Term Visions of GFWA Hotspots

For more information please open this link
Apply Here

http://www.birdlife.org/job/international-open-tender-elaboration-long-term-vision-guinean-forests-west-africa-hotspot

Partnership & Capacity Development Coordinator

Application deadline:

Sunday, 10.
