ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION<\/h3>\n

Job description \u2022 Coordination of volunteers: o Incorporation of new volunteers in the team o Organization of volunteering activities (weekly planning of the volunteers\u2019 team; coordination of translation documents when needed; training\u2026) o Coordination of the administration-related documents of the volunteers \u2022 Coordinate the information activity at the Arrival Centre in Brussels and other relevant places; \u2022 Monitor situation on the ground, collect data and prepare situation reports. Coordination of the drafting of reports; \u2022 Organize team building activities of the volunteers\u2019 group; \u2022 Develop activities for social cohesion; \u2022 Keep updated educational tools for awareness raising sessions on asylum and migration for the Belgian public and conduct these sessions; \u2022 Networking with other civil society organisations; \u2022 Any other related relevant task. ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS<\/h3>\n

The volunteer will be able to freeely choose from among our accommodation options, but many choose to stay in Brussels under Euroepan Solidarity Corps (ESC) conditions, and is lodged by Flemish Refugee Action that is located just a 5 minute subway ride away from the historical centre of Brussels.<\/p>\n

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY<\/h3>\n

At the start, intercultural training will be part of the training organised by JINT. Intercultural encounters being essential in the project, it will remain a subject in feedback sessions and evaluations. Internal training is being periodically set up to keep staff and volunteers steady on track with these regulations. Every new staff member and volunteers receive an introduction training and folder with essential information on the organization (mission, vision, workplace rules…) More training can be provided and organised by Vluchtelingenwerk or external organisations during the year.<\/p>\n

PARTICIPANT PROFILE<\/h3>\n

\u2022 Degree in social sciences, human rights, international relations; \u2022 Basic knowledge in asylum matters in Europe and understanding of the European context. \u2022 Understanding of the role of civil society in migration issues \u2022 Eager to learn and adapt to the Belgian legal and political situation \u2022 Strong written and oral English skills \u2022 Analytical skills \u2022 Team player \u2022 Good listener and strong communication skills \u2022 Gender sensitive \u2022 Proactive and solution-oriented \u2022 Flexible \u2022 Planning and Organizational skills; \u2022 Preferably multilingual in addition to English.<\/p><\/div>\n
