\nDescription:<\/p>\n

The Paris Office of The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) seeks a six-month intern who is interested in gaining practical experience in a think tank and policy-driven research on issues relevant to transatlantic relations. S\/he will work with the Director of the Paris office and team and participate in a variety of activities that support GMF programs, including research, writing, project development, and events organization. The intern will work directly with specific programs including the Security & Defense, and Europe programs, as well as on smaller projects on a variety of issues relevant to French, European and U.S. politics.<\/p>\n

Key Areas of Responsibility:<\/p>\n

Conduct research work on a variety of topics;
\nPrepare and produce supporting material, documents and data selection for presentations and meetings as required;
\nMaintain database, think tanks watch and update of events, conference and seminars in Paris, Europe and the United States;
\nUpdate Paris contact lists;
\nContact and follow-up with invitees to conferences and seminars organized in Paris and other GMF offices;
\nAssist in organizing seminars, conferences, editing and coordinating publications;
\nAssist with travel, accommodation arrangements and programming of meetings for staff, U.S. delegations and guests visiting the Paris office;
\nAttend research conferences on transatlantic and European security issues in Paris and write event reports;
\nTranslate work from French to English and from English to French;
\nAssist with the communication and advertising of GMF’s and the Paris office’s activities;
\nDaily administrative work;
\nOther duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

Profile:<\/p>\n

Enrolled in a Master program or graduate, ideally in International Relations\/European Affairs\/Political Science;
\nExcellent communication and writing skills in both French and English;
\nCreative, entrepreneurial and responsible;
\nExcellent organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines while working on longer term projects;
\nAbility to work in an international environment;
\nComfortable working both independently and as part of a team;
\nExperience in project management, program planning and research;
\nBackground or interest in foreign policy, diplomacy, transatlantic relations; ideally, knowledge of European and American domestic and foreign policies and transatlantic relations.
\nStart and Length of the Internship:<\/p>\n

Internship format: 6-month full-time internship
\nInternship agreement required
\nStarting date: January 31, 2022 – July 29, 2022
\nRemuneration: \u20ac800\/month + restaurant tickets<\/p>\n
