The Economics Affairs Officer reports to the Chief of the Unit on Investment and Corporate Strategies; his (her) work will be focussed on economic sectors and technology.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is one of the five regional commissions of the United Nations. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_lblDescriptionTitle7\" class=\"cSubHeader\">Work Experience<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cParagraphA\"><span id=\"ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_lblDescriptionContent7\">A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analysis, policy formulation, application of economic principles in development programmes or related area is required.<br \/>\nA minimum of five years of experience in economic sectors and technology and formulation of policy proposals in the field of production is needed.<br \/>\nA good publication record is desirable.<br \/>\nExperience conducting research studies in the Latin American and Caribbean region is desirable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_lblDescriptionTitle8\" class=\"cSubHeader\">Languages<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"cParagraphA\"><span id=\"ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_lblDescriptionContent8\">English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
