They were vigorously opposed by the major, William Epps Morrison, who went so far as to ask the home secretary for permission to leave the \u2018Salvationists\u2019 to the mercy of the \u2018Skelton army\u2019 organised to attack them, but this callous approach was refused. The case of \u2018unlawful assembly\u2019 against the Salvationists eventually reached the High Court in <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">London<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, and was thrown out.
