{"id":110591,"date":"2017-11-30T16:33:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-30T16:33:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2023-01-08T11:02:10","modified_gmt":"2023-01-08T11:02:10","slug":"three-views-on-women-in-combat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cvnextjob.com\/index.php\/2017\/11\/30\/three-views-on-women-in-combat\/","title":{"rendered":"Three Views on Women in Combat"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><h3 class=\"post-title entry-title\" itemprop=\"name\"><\/h3>\n<div class=\"post-header\"> <\/div>\n<p>Today&#8217;s reading assignments from Mackubin Thomas Owens in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/articles\/coed-combat-units_697822.html\"><i>Weekly Standar<\/i>d<\/a>; Ryan Smith in <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424127887323539804578260132111473150.html\"><i>The Wall Street Journal<\/i> <\/a>and Captain Katie Petronio in the <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mca-marines.org\/gazette\/article\/get-over-it-we-are-not-all-created-equal\">Marine Corps Gazette<\/a><\/i>. <\/p>\n<p>Not exactly the PC version that the White House (or outgoing Defense  Secretary Leon Panetta) would like you to read, but it&#8217;s the truth.  &nbsp;There&#8217;s a reason that 99% of all women in the military can&#8217;t pass  muster for service in the infantry or special forces. &nbsp;And it has  nothing to do with sexism; it&#8217;s all about physiology and the &nbsp;fact that  most women don&#8217;t have the upper body strength or endurance to handle  those jobs. <\/p>\n<p>But remember this: with the door now open for women to serve in ground  combat units, the left will do whatever it takes to make this  &#8220;experiment&#8221; succeed. &nbsp;When we start &#8220;gender-norming&#8221; for physical  standards in the infantry, SEAL units; Special Forces A-teams and Air  Force combat control and pararescue elements, we are finished as a  military.
